I recently bought the Insignia digital converter... it works fine on my TV that has a video mode..

However.. one of my other TVs does not have a video mode but has antennae and the red/yellow/white input holes in the back

also, another of my TVs does not even have the red/white/yellow input holes in the back but does have an antennae

  1. so does it not work on the other older tvs?

  2. Very good question.  You need just a basic DTV converter setup diagram using the RF (antenna port).  I've found a great article that should help you along & it even has diagrams if you get stuck.

Basically, you connect the coax from your antenna to the 'antenna in' port on your converter box and then run a coax from the 'out' on your converter box to the coax connector on your TV.

The red/yellow/white are composite (RCA) jacks for audio and video.  You can safely ignore them in this circumstance.  Good luck to you!

  3. There are two ways to connect your converter to a TV.

There are the composite cables that you are using on the first TV.

You can also connect it to the antenna input of a TV. The Insignia came with a short length of coax cable. You just connect it between the converters  "To TV (RF)" output  and the antenna input of the TV. Turn the converter on and set the TV to either channel 3 or 4.

Those are video inputs. Either the video mode is broken on that TV or you don't know which button switches the TV to video mode. Either way you could still use the converter by directly connecting it to the TVs antenna input.
