Digital converter... universal remote?

Question

whats the difference between getting a universal remote for DTV and not getting the universal remote... also, if you dont get a universal remote, what will you do, how will you change channels and etc.?

For DTV, when I was selling it, we were always told that the remote that comes with the unit, especially if it was a DVR was the best to use.  A universal remote like one you can buy at Wal Mart or someplace like that can't be totally programmed with special features that the real remote would have.  You can always get a universal remote from DTV itself if they are still selling them that should work just fine.
