Digital radio - does it work abroad?

If you have digital radio, can you receive UK radio overseas (specifically France)?

I am not familiar with digital radio, but did Google it and found several sites for France.  Therefore I would presume the answer is yes.

No , they have a elliptical  orbit.

Meaning , they "fall" in their orbit directly above North America.

EDIT

Did some research , and digital radio in the UK utilizes land based transmitters.

They have no license to operate abroad , therefore the signal cannot reach.

Sorry about the misunderstanding at the onset of my answer , land based digital broadcast radio in the US is a new and floundering market.
