Digital receiver?

Hi.

I have a "helios Rx8" receiver, the remote control broke, so i bought a universal remote control named "WELLTECH model: 40085/HTFB 85" and i tried to configure it for the receiver.

It has a list of all kinds of receiver, tvs, dvds etc.

But i could not find helios one.

An other option is to enter the code (but i don't know the code of the receiver), then i could search it, but it came out with no result.

Please help!

Thank you!

  1. I would suggest getting a Logitech Harmony 880.  They have a very extensive database for home theater components.  You program it using your computer.

Why is it nicer than the one you purchased? Ease of use.  You will have buttons that say "Watch TV" "Watch DVD", etc. The remote will switch and turn on everything in your system automatically.  You don't need to use any of your other remotes!

Programming is fairly straight forward.  Check it out.

  2. your "universal" remote may not in fact be truly universal.  (almost nothing is).  When they offer codes, it means they have communicated with the manufacturer of the product to be controlled, and pre-programmed your remote with those codes, which are unlocked by entering the code.  They haven't necessarily pre-programmed every model from every manufacturer.  You should be able to determine the compatibility between a remote and your device before buying a "universal" remote.
