Digital recorders (camcorders)?

this is my first time ever buying a digital camcorder and i have no idea what to look for! does anyone have any suggestions on what to buy and what to look for in a camcorder?

  1. same principles apply whether Macintosh or Windows... but you won't need to download/install StreamClip for  Windows... you *may* need to install a firewire port...

    Things to look for:

    Good lens

    Audio-in jack

    Manual audio control
