Question:

Digital switchover?

I live in a part of the UK which won’t have digital until 2010 or 2011. If I buy a digital-ready TV before this time, will I be able to watch analogue TV on this set through my current portable analogue aerial until we are switched over to digital. If not, would I need to buy a different type of aerial, or is it not possible to use analogue aerials on digital sets at all?

  1. Prices for TV is keeps drooping ,new technologies keeps coming , i am very sure 2010 will somethings new to the Digital TV, and prices lower 15- 20 % compare to present Digital TV on the market. Till 2011 will be more better and lower price digital TV . Just buy any GOOD TV now, after 4 years ,is times to enjoys better Technologies with lower prices, UN less you very rich now ( since you area is not ready for Digital ). egg during the year  of 2002  for an 26 inc LCD is  USD 1,300.00 to day 32 inc LCD HD Ready is cost  around USD 850.00 // 42 inc USD 2,500  to day from USD1,200 //

  2. As I understand it, DTV will reuse the existing analogue channels, so you can use the same antenna. If you get a digital TV, be sure that it also has an analogue tuner (most do), so you'll be able to watch the analogue channels until the switchover occurs in your region.

By the way, the terminology "digital-ready" usually means that the TV has no tuner. You probably want an "integrated HDTV", which included the analogue and digital tuners.
