A man at Cox communications said I didn't need to buy a third converter box for my tv in another room. He said buy the "Digital to Analog box that the government is offering coupons for. I do have cable by the way and I can't use a VCR or another cable because it didn't work. It only showed one channel.

  1. The coupon eligible converter boxes are for Over The Air (OTA) TV  ** ONLY **.  They will not work on cable.  OTA TV uses a system called ATSC and digital cable uses QAM; the two are not compatible.

If you have an analog TV and wish to use an antenna, you can use the converter box.  If you are going to use cable on that set, then your cable company should supply the proper boxes.

    I hope this helps.
