I have comcast right now, basic package, no extra channels, no hi-def channels, just regular channels that look crappy on my hdtv. So i have two questions, when digital transition comes are all the channels going to be digital? and if so, how does comcast have you covered, will all my channels be digital?

  1. The transition only affects the Over The Air channels you would receive with an antenna.  Cable providers are required by the FCC to provide at least the local channels in analog until 2012 when they will revisit the requirement.

So, if you want digital channels and HD from Comcast, you need to purchase the digital cable package.
