Is there any way I can found out whether the used TV I just bought has a digital tuner? It's a Digistar model LC-20H3D, but I can't find the manufacturer (Prima Electronics) on the Web or through your listing.
The owner, a friend, assured me that it was a "digital TV", all set to receive digital broadcasts next year. I've been assuming that I'd need cable or satellite service too. Right now I just have an antenna, and that gives me good enough reception for the amount of TV that I watch.
I started to wonder because I read that as long as a TV has a digital tuner, it will be able to receive digital signals "over the air", with an antenna, and that TVs manufactured since some month in 2007 have to include a digital tuner. The back of this one says it was manufactured in April 2005. My friend said it was 2 years old; he clearly can't count.
There's nothing in the info stamped on the TV that says anything about a tuner, and my friend says he tossed out the owner's manual.
Can you help?
Thanks in advance for any advice.
Ann
