Dijon interested in Chelsea forward Gael Kakuta
Patrice Carteron, the Dijon manager, revealed he was hopeful of signing http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 player Gael Kakuta on a loan move in the January transfer window after coming to a verbal agreement with him.
The 20-year-old winger is currently on loan to Bolton Wanderers, but will be returning to Stamford Bridge in January. However, having had no first team experience at the Reebok Stadium, it is expected the Blues will send him out on another loan move.
So far Ligue 1 side Dijon are prepared to take the talented forward and coach Carteron has already mentioned Kakuta as part of his future plans. The manager feels the youngster has what it takes to help the side from their bottom half of the table 16th
position.
Carteron said while speaking to speaking to reporters:
“We have a verbal agreement with the player but nothing has been officially signed.
My idea is not to sign players for the sake of it. We want to strengthen the squad, not just replace players.
Gael Kakuta is a rough diamond, someone who can bring us something extra.”
Kakuta joined US Lille-Moulins as a youngster and moved on to Lens in 1999. He spent five years there before being chosen to attent Centre de Preformation de Football. It was after that he joined Chelsea in 2007 and became an instant hit.
He not only earned the Academy Scholar of the Year, he was also voted the Academy Player of the Year as he finished top goal scorer for the youth side. The 2008-2009 saw Kakuta being allowed to train with the senior team, an opportunity he made the best
of.
Kakuta went on to make his debut under manager Carlo Ancelotti, who was certain the youngster would add much needed pace to the Chelsea side. After a Premier League debut against Wolverhampton Wanderers, Kakuta became the youngest player to represent Chelsea
in the UEFA Champions League.
Before leaving for Fulham on a loan move in the January transfer window of 2010, Kakuta signed a contract extension with the Blues, which will keep him at the club until 2015. He made 7 appearances for Fulham and scored a single goal. The youngster had similar
statistics at Bolton Wanderers with 6 appearances and one goal.
