Dikembe Mutombo: Denver Nuggets or Atlanta Hawks?

Question

I'm trying to come up with a franchise all-star teams for all NBA teams. A couple of questions:

1. Where do you think Dikembe Mutombo belongs? With the Denver Nuggets or with the Atlanta Hawks?

2. If you say the Hawks, should he start over Clyde Lovelette? or someone else should start?

I think with Denver. He was a pivotal player with the Nuggets, especially remembered for that stunning first round playoff upset over the Sonics when they were the 8th seed and the Sonics (with Kemp and Payton) were the first seed.

That's a tough one but i'd probably put Dikembe with the Nuggets.  He spent the first 5 years of his career in Denver and the next 5 with the Hawks (although he was inured two of those years).  He had his best years with Denver and so i'd probably put him with Denver.

i would say the nuggets only because i will always remember him helping them beat the sonics, yeah i would start him

I know this isn't in the question but didn't he have his most successful season as a 76er. He played in 23 playoff games in 00-01 which is more than the 5 years combined at Atlanta and the 5 years combined at Denver.

However as a 76er fan i would have to say that you would neally have to toss a coin to choose between Atlanta and Denver because he did so much for both clubs just like Tim Hardaway did for Golden State and Miami.

I think he would really be NEEDED by the Nuggets!.... Since they lost Marcus Camby... They would need another shot-blocking center!.... But considering his age.... I would say.... NEITHER!....

Definitely Dikembe belongs with Atlanta where he spent his prime years, bulk of his All-Star appearances and Bulk of his NBA records.

I think Dikembe could beat out Clyde here, because in his prime Dikemebe was the main force that powered his teams, although Clyde was obviously more versatile being able to shif from SF, PF and C postions, Dikembe was the MAN. All other players followed his lead. As for Atlanta, the main franchise player for the ball club should be the 'Human Highlight Film' Dominique Wilkins.
