Dil Laney chasing maiden victory in Racing Again Tomorrow Selling Stakes
Dil Laney will be chasing his maiden victory in the Racing Again Tomorrow Selling Stakes at Ripon in England on Monday, August 27, 2012. He is a decent runner, but has not won a single event in his career until now. However, there is a solid chance for him
to break the shackles today.
A total of 11 runners have been attracted towards the class-6 race, which is scheduled to start at 14:25 GMT. The going has been described as good because of the dry weather over the past couple of days.
Speed will be extremely crucial in the 6 furlong event and there are some brisk runners eying a victory to claim a cash prize of £2,045 in the end. One of them is Ena Sharples, who has been given the best odds today.
On the other hand, Dil Laney will definitely be fighting for a victory at Ripon, despite the fact that he is yet to win the first ever race of his career. He has been priced 11 to 1 by the bookies and the punters will also be interested in risking a lot
of bets on him.
The two-year-old gelding made his debut in May 2012 and has appeared in seven races since then. Although, he has been unable to claim the top spot in any of them, yet his performances have not been bad at all. He has managed to finish as a runner up on a
couple of occasions whereas secured the third spot on the same number of times.
The David O'Meara’s trainee finished second in his first ever race. He was priced 15 to 2 back then and was expected to be competitive. He fought hard and the result was a good one for his team at the end of the day.
However, the Irish runner struggled to deliver a decent result in his next couple of outings and his confidence was shattered. Despite that, he came back strongly and performed really well afterwards.
In his most recent race, Mujadil’s son finished as a runner up. He will need a slightly better effort at Ripon today. His partner will be seasoned jockey, Daniel Tudhope, who has enjoyed some good races with him in the past as well.
