  1. They put drops in your eyes that dilates them so that they will be able to see the inside of the black part of your eye. When they look its really weird because you can kind of see your own veins in your eye when they shine the light in them. You will not be able to drive after for a few hours, and your vision will be impared for a while- only blurry. It doesn't hurt or anything so don't be worried.

  2. A dilated eye exam is just a way for the doctor to see inside your eye better by making your pupils larger w/ a certain drop that they use - Think of your pupil as a window to the back of  your eye.  Some ppl's pupils may be too smal for the doctor to see the entire back of the eye, and other's have naturally larger pupils.  Depending on what drop they use your pupils will be dilated anywhere from 2-3 hours to 24 hours.  You'll notice your pupils will be really big after your exam.  You'll have light sensitivity (since pupils constrict and become smaller in day light) so you'll want to bring a pair of sunglasses to your exam that are dark.

  3. The eye doctor will put eye drops into your eyes to examine them in greater detail. Your vision will be blurry for a few hours and then return to normal, so you should arrange for a  ride home since you won't be able to drive.

  4. they put these drops in your eyes so that the pupil (black part) gets huge, almost like they are at night. That way the doc can have a look around on the inside of your eye with little trouble.

Its pretty painless, but you have to wear old-people sunglasses for a few hours after.

  5. He looks inside your eye to check it and you need someone to drive you home and take your own sunglasses cause you won't like the ones they give you.It doesn't hurt

  6. WHen the doctor dialates your eyes that means that he puts eyedros in that open your pupils. He does this so that he can see better inside your eye just to check and see if anythings wrong in there. If you go and get it done it will feel funny and tickle a little and make sure to bring sunglasses even if it is not very sunny becasue with your pupils opened so big A LOT of light goes into your eyes and it hurts.
