Question:

Dilated eyes?

My son had his eyes dilated over 5 hours ago and the good eye is still at full dilation. The bad eye(lazy eye) is functioning normally again. We didn't even notice he had a lazy eye because all the muscles work fine and dilation has never been an issue. How long does the effects from dilation normally last? They had to try and dilate the bad eye twice before anything worked, and it is already back to normal.

  1. well if your son has lighter colored eyes than it will take longer for  it to wear off and it can last up to 48 hours if you have blue eyes

  2. That's normal- it really does vary. If he's not better in the morning, it's cause for concern, but some people just take their time, especially with some of the longer acting drugs.
