Question:

Dilated pupils...?

I had my eyes dilated at the optometrist yesterday at 10am. It's been over a day, but my eyes are still dilated and are exactly the same size. I have to go to my driving class tomorrow... which is a problem... because I can't see when it's bright. I can read just fine... it's just the light that's bothering me. How much longer will my eyes stay dilated?

  1. That depends upon two things.  1)  The type of dilating drop your doctor used. 2) Your own metabolism.

There are several different dilating drops your doctor can use.  Each has its own specific time of action.  Some drops tend to last just hours whereas others can last days.  Also, any given drop can have a different length of action depending upon how rapidly your body breaks down the chemical.

So, call your optometrist and tell them what is going on and ask them which drop they used and how long they would expect it to take to resolve.
