Dilateed pupils..?

Question

my pupils have been dilated on and off all day. i havent been on any new medication.i went to the pediatrician the today about strep throat and she looked at my eyes and wasnt sure what was wrong and referred me to talk to my neurologist again.

im 14 years old,, never drinken alcohol or done drugs.

other then the pupiilss i ve also had some other probles.

-vision blackouts for only a few seconds

-dizziness

-frequent headaches

-fatigue

-aches.

ive been to a cardiologist and neurologist and optimologist.

ive had an mri, mra, mri with contrast, eeg and ekg and they still havent figured anyhting out. helpp? oh if anythign just tell me what the pupils might be cause by.

what  about your food  and drink intake-- are you on a weight loss diet? or drinking  soda or "light" drink with artificial sweeteners? diet coke or pepsi maybe? I have seen people getting  some of symptoms you describe that were under both... reducing dramatically their food intake and drinking only aspartame loaded drink.. make sure you take care of your nutrition  sometimes the answer is as simple as that

One of my friends exhibited similar symptoms about a year ago. She was 13 at the time (I'm 14 by the way) and her doctors said that she was getting poor circulation to her brain due to a growth spurt she had. It sounds weird, but her doctor said that apparently her blood vessels didn't lengthen as fast as her body grew, causing circulation to decrease, especially to her brain.  So, if you've had a recent growth spurt, this may be your problem. If it is, don't be scared, it can easily be treated with medications. If this isn't your problem, then I hope I didn't scare you too much and I also hope your doctors find out what it is soon.

Personally, I worry less when both pupils are dilated than if only one was. Aside from drugs, dilated pupils result from a disruption of the parasympathetic nerve supply via the 3rd cranial nerve, the oculomotor nerve; or, from an overstimulation of the sympathetic nervous system. From your description, I surmise that the imaging studies were normal.

Unfortunately I can't go farther than that.
