Dilema finding a pram/pushchair/carseat?

Me and my missus are having a baby boy in november and are stuck getting a pram. We haven't got a lot of money spare at the mo. We wont buy second hand, and want a really decent make. We want to spend about £400 at the max. We want a lightweight pram that will fold small enough to fit into the boot of a renault clio. We also aren't sure whether to get a carrycot pram/buggie and a separate car seat or a travel system with a car seat included. We especially like the mamas and papas pilko pramette but with the added car seat, car seat base and accessories will come to way over our budget. Any advice would be appreciated

  1. have you looked in mothercare?? they have some nice cheaper ones. all the silver cross ones are nice and they work out around 390 with the car seat.. we only have a fiesta and the silver cross fits fine. hope this helps.

  2. I would say Mothercare too!! Me and my hubby is also expecting a boy in november, and we have just bought the MY3 travel system from Mothercare. A pram that you can convert into a pushchair, and also a car seat with it. Very easy to fold together and doesn't take much space!  ÃƒÂ‚£400 though, but I have a feeling its gonna be well worth the money:)

    Good Luck!

  3. have you looked at the Mothercare my4 travel system (see link) it come in at £400 personally i think this is way too much when you can get better deals on seperate items.

i've bought a brittax car seat that is a group 0+1 from birth to 4yrs old - it was 89.99 at halfords, and i'm buying a silvercross pram/pushchair combi from mothercare which is on offer at the mo at £249.99

read as many reviews as possible

    - mamas and papas is a good brand and for only £200 its a cheap deal. also the pushchair is rumoured to be one of the lighest at only 5kg

  6. hiya...I would go with a travel system...as when you are not using the car the baby can go in the carrycot/pram part of the pram so he/she is laid flat so he/she isn't all scrunched up all the time as they need 2 b lay flat too...I have a travel system from mother care and was £400 for everything and the raincover but you can get a full travel system for less than £200 in argos....you can also get them prams that r just a frame and carseat and carrycot if you are using the car all the time and they fold up compact!

gotto some websites like mothercare babies r us..argos and also view them in store! :D
