Dilemma! Can't write good poetry without being stoned!?

I have a major problem, for six years now i have written four volumes of poetry, most of it really good but my problem is that i can't write anything good without being stoned on marijuana. I've tried for nearly a year straight and i can't even get close to my works when stoned. Any advice from experienced writers would be appreciated.

If you could find a way to reach that stoned feeling without using marijuana, it might be about the same. I'm not sure what would evoke such feelings from you, since we are different people. What worked for me was being around my best friend, or IMing her on AIM and sending hilarious pictures back and forth and laughing about absolutely everything, creating fake scenarios involving people we knew acting ridiculous. After a short while I'd have so much mental energy and such an elated feeling that I was able to write freely. Going to church and being able to feel Jesus also evokes a similar stoned feeling, but you have to find the perfect church.

Recharge your batteries.  Muses don't stay forever, they come and go.  Keep a journal and make quick observations.  Rest the mind, you are not a factory and your body will not handle any excess of drugs in the long haul.  Now for the real question: is this a valid question?

I'm a writer and for me it's alcohol. I don't have the answer. I hope someone in this forum has it.
