Diligent to work for victory at Catterick – National Hunt Preview
Diligent will run diligently at 2m Catterick racecourse on Wednesday, March 7 and bag the title of Michael Easterby Mares’ Standard National Hunt Flat Race (Conditional Jockeys’ And Amateur Riders’).
The Class 6 contest of £1,437 is scheduled to start at 5:20 (GMT). There is likely to be a thrilling clash at the venue.
Diligent will compete against Bellingo, Definitely Pip, Function Times, Meadow Mix, Oaklands Elise, Seren Gris, Silver Carousel, Backstage Lady, The Carden Arms and Vinetta.
Though Diligent has run just for one time to date, but the talent she possesses is matchless on today’s card.
The Donald McCain-trained bay filly started her career on January 28, 2012 and registered a magnificent success while running against 11 rivals in the very maiden outing at Doncaster track.
The novice runner demonstrated an amazing run, impressing both the bookmakers and the general sport lovers a lot.
Before the race day, no one could even imagine that the four-year-old filly would be able to produce such an outstanding result. After winning the contest, she walked away with £2,274 of prize money.
This fresh success has seems to have hiked the brilliant runner’s confidence level to a great extent along with installing her as the hot favourite for today’s marathon.
Capitalising on her momentum well, Diligent will surely be able to stand victorious at Catterick. Her chances to finish first are more than 80 percent.
Out of the other ten runners on the card, Bellingo and Seren Gris are likely to perform better in the event.
Bellingo ran for the first and last time in November 2011. Ray Craggs’ bay mare competed nicely and finished seventh in the outing. Since then, she has been undergoing tough schooling which seems to have polished her skills.
On the other hand, Seren Gris made her debut at Kelso track on February 15, 2012 and grabbed 8th spot while running against 10 opponents. The trainee of Keith Reveley is supposed to do well today.
