Dilshan keen to end South African tour on a winning note – Cricket News Update
After registering their first win of the ODI series, Sri Lankan skipper, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/TM-Dilshan-c2691 wants to maintain the winning momentum by another victory at Johannesburg.
The Lankans defied all odds to emerge victorious in the fourth ODI, claiming the win by 5 wickets courtesy of some excellent contributions from the batting order, which included a captain’s knock from Dilshan, who scored a run a ball 87 as the tourists chased
down a daunting target of 300 with 8 balls to spare.
The win allowed some breathing space for the sub-continent giants after they had been criticized for a lack of commitment  – losing the first three ODIs to hand http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Allan-Robert-Border-c43726 de Villiers’ his first series victory since taking over at the helm.
However, the Kimberly clash has rejuvenated the visitor camps with their skipper keen to end the tour on a high by hoping to claim another win in the final game, played at Johannesburg on January 22nd.
"A 3-2 result will be a fantastic effort, but we have to play well. We can't relax because http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 are a good team and they are playing well. We know we are capable, and knew we could do much better than the first game," said the Lankan skipper.
The clash also allowed Dilshan to flourish after his leadership and place, both had come under considerable scrutiny. It was his first notable outing on Proteas soil, rediscovering the ‘Dilscoop’, while thrashing the ball at will.
Even he claimed to have gained confidence after hitting http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Vernon-Philander-c2753 over his own head. “After the Dilscoop went for six, I got more confident," said Dilshan.
Despite showing eagerness to carry on with his role, a question mark lingers over his potential longevity with the national team considering that his side has lost every series during his unsuccessful stint since World Cup 2011.
"I am not listening to the news, anyone can write anything," he said. "I want to finish this series because they [the selectors] appointed me for the South Africa tour. It's up to them if I carry on. I am waiting for their call. I'm still enjoying my captaincy."
