Dim Lights On Dash - 2000 Mazda Protege?

The lights on my 2000 Mazda Protege are suddenly very dim.. just noticed tonight when I couldn't really see anything on the dash! What causes this and can I fix it by myself? Thanks!

  1. on the left of the steering wheel there is a dimmer. turn it to the right and that should fix it.  


  2. Did you try adjusting them with the dimmer switch on the dash over by the steering wheel?

  3. Turn the button that you pull out to turn on your lights clockwise.
