Dimension 9150...attaching a wireless antenna to the back of the computer?

We recently got back our computer from a technician who formatted the harddrive for us. I'm trying to reconnect it to the wireless network we already have set up. When we got back the computer I'm writing this question on, a wireless icon was already in the bottom right tray, so I clicked it, chose the network, and typed in the password. Connected right away. There isn't such an icon on the computer I'm trying to connect, however.

There is an antenna that used to go in the back of the computer, near the bottom. It is black, and twists onto a little k**b on the back of the desktop. I attached this the way it used to be before we formatted it, but I can't figure out how to enable a wireless connection.

Sorry if this is too vague to receive any answers, but I'm a little new to the subject. Any replies I'm sure would help. Thanks in advance!
