Water consists of molecules. A water molecule has two hydrogen atoms, each connect by an oxygen atom. The distance between one hydrogen atom and the oxygen atom is .96 A. What is this distance in milimeters?

( 1 A = 10^-10 m)

Please show me the steps on how to get the answer. I did this problem but I'm sure that I messed up on one of the steps.

  1. Here,

              1A= 10^-10 m

    so,,     0.96 A = 0.96 * 10^-10 m = 9.6*10^-11 m

    Now,

           1m = 1000 mm

    or,,   9.6*10^-11 m = 9.6*10^-11 * 1000 mm = 9.6*10^-8 mm

  2. 1 m=1000mm;

    1A =1e-10 m= 1e-10 *1000 =1e-7 mm;

    0.96 A = 0.96e-7 mm;
