The Bulgarian centre forward revealed that Sir Alex Ferguson had promised him that he would have a place for him in the first team line up but the Manchester United manager did not come good on his promises as Berbatov is now
headed for the exit door...
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 Ferguson did not come good on his promises to the former Tottenham player. Sir
Alex signed Berbatov for over 30 million pounds in the summer of 2008 but the Bulgarian target man failed to make an impact at Manchester United.
Berbatov had a rough time at the start but his best season in Manchester United’s colours came in 2010-2011 when United won the league and Berbatov was their highest scorer in the Premier League competition. This season Berbatov
has seldom seen himself start a match as Sir Alex has persisted with the combination of Welbeck and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wayne-Rooney-c36736.
In his latest comments Berbatov said, "We talked 10 times, he told me there would be a place for me but I stayed on the bench. My time at Manchester United is running out. I no longer feel like a valuable part of this team. I think
I did well in the few opportunities that I received.”
He added, "I am a little frustrated by the way this happened, I do not think I deserved it. But I have dignity and I stopped going to such meetings, it is clear that I'm leaving United. It's obvious that I have to leave. I'm looking
for a new place now. I know I can still play at the highest level."
It will be interesting to see where Berbatov heads now as it is clear that his career at Old Trafford is done with. On the other hand, Manchester United will look to replace the outgoing striker with another high profile signing
for sure as they lost the league title to Manchester City on goal difference which does tell something about their lack of offensive prowess as compared to their blue neighbours.
