Dimitar Berbatov asks for more first team chances – English Premier League
Manchester United’s striker Dimitar Berbatov has come out and demanded more first team chances at Old Trafford in his latest interview. The Bulgarian forward has been out of favour this season as he has been relegated to the bench
for most of the UEFA Champions League as well as the English Premier League games at Manchester United.
Sir Alex Ferguson has instead opted to start with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Dimitar-Berbatov-c11254, which means that the former Tottenham striker has hardly seen a starting place in the
2011-2012 English Premier League season. Last season, Berbatov was Manchester United’s top scorer as well as the joint top scorer in the English Premier League with 20 goals to his name. His goal tally helped Manchester United win their 19th league
title and in doing so, they broke Liverpool’s record of 18 league titles in English football.
Berbatov’s exclusion this season has come as a surprise to many at Old Trafford but now there are increasing rumours that the Bulgarian target man might be on his way out of Old Trafford come the end of the current season as he
is already in the last year of his contract. Berbatov spoke to the media recently and said, "I want to get more chances because I know I can help the team. I'll continue to give my best to earn my place in the team.”
Berbatov also responded to suggestions and appeals from the Bulgarian national team fans that he should return to international football for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Bulgaria-c2861, the Manchester Untied striker stated, "I didn't expect such a reaction. I can't
play for the national team if I'm not playing for my club. I would like to thank the fans, it was very pleasant. My team-mates wondered what was happening and I had to explain to them [about the noise].”
Dimitar will be hoping that Sir http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 Ferguson starts him in next league encounter for Manchester United against Manchester City on Sunday afternoon. A victory for City will open up a five point gap at the top of the English Premier
League table whereas a win for Manchester United will prompt them to return to the summit of the English Premier League.
