Wow!! seems from this post that a lot of people do not like Maria Sharapova very much.

Yes,it's always nice to see a humble,hard working player like Safina rewarded but there are still some very good players out there to beat before you can start predicting that Safina will take RG. Remember,clay is Maria Sharapova's worst surface. For a good player like Safina to beat her on this surface is not such a surprise.

I'm happy for Safina that she won but not because  I don't like Maria because,actually,I do.

I am.  The girl seems so humble compared to Sharapova.  Sharapova, in my opinion is a self-centered snob that needed to be brought down from her pedestal.

I for one am happy. Just to see the over rated, Shapaova out of it, not that she was expected to do much here. Especially with her lack of movement on this surface. Dinara has been playing the best, consistent tennis as of late, especially on clay, and moves much better. After a semi dismal 2007 and her ranking slipping, she totally has brought back her game, alike to Dementieva, and Zvonereva, especially being injury free. Dinara can surely survive herremaining half of draw and reach her First Slam Final.

i am happy that dinara won. great job and congrats to dinara.   however, my prediction is one of this players to win the french open :  dementieva, dinara or jankovic if she can take out ivanovic.

I think she might take the french open if she continues to play like this. She's been finishing one top seed after the other this past months. Let's see if ana can take her in the final (if they both make it, that is).

I'm not gonna prematurely suggest she's gonna win, just yet, but whoever is going to take her out isn't gonna have it easy. Whatever happens to her at Roland Garros, she's gonna be the one to beat in the near future.

And it will be crazy to count her off.Obviously the girl has the game to win the French..but can she execute it when it matters most?she's had a good run, lets just wait and see.
