I always watch that show Diner's Drive-ins and dives and he shows some really good Diners and stuff but they are all in middle america, new york, etc. etc.

Are there any REALLY good diners in the los angeles area? I live in Baldwin Park if that helps. Also list the best meal they serve so I can get an idea lol. :)

Thanks so much.

  1. You're livin' the life, now aren't you? :) Let me search that for you, and I will list the links below, okay? :)

    L'Opera Restaurant

    Ocean and Vine

    Lucques

Here is the Link below so you can figure out what catches your eye!

  2. Jackie's Cafe-West Covina, south Garvey Ave, off the Citrus exit & the 10 fwy

  3. Eat At Joe's

    400 N. Pacific Coast Highway

    Redondo Beach, CA 90277

    (310) 376-9570

The Mad Dog Special - which is an omelet made with last night's dinner special as the filling. On Saturday it is usually sirloin tips.

It's not open for dinner on the weekends. Come early in the morning if you want breakfast.

  4. They showed one in Long Beach a few weeks ago.  It was right on  the water..  If I remember the name I will edit.

    Schooner or Later

    241 N. Marina Dr.

    Long Beach, CA 90803

    Tel: (562) 430-3495

    Website: www.schoonerorlater.com

  5. I love Fred 62 in Los Feliz. Delicious greasy food, great atmosphere.

  6. I would check the website that Guy is a great host for that show.

  7. Not really a diner or a dive, but my favorite drive-in in Southern California is The Hat. Best pastrami sandwiches I have ever found. Almost worth the 4 hour drive from Las Vegas to the nearest one for me. d**n - now I'm hungry.

  8. Ohhh wanna a good burger I suggest Bobs Big Boy. Go to the original diner in Burbank, right off the 134 FWY on Riverside Dr.

Some nights people bring their classic cars. Every time I go back to So-Cal, I visit Bobs.

  9. I'm a Long Beach resident so most of my suggestions might be kinda far for you to drive. LB seems to be filled with tons of hole-in-the-wall joints.

Joe Jost's in Long Beach is a good dive and it's been in business since 1924. Old school bar food like pickled eggs and salami sandwiches is more of it's thing.

49ers Tavern and The Pike Bar and Grill are good places to get a burger. Coco Reno's has good cheap food that cures a hangover.

My favorite dive is Berth 55 Deli and Seafood market in the middle of the port of Long Beach. If you get there around 11am you might catch a guy playing bagpipes in full Scottish regalia beofre he takes off on his fishing boat. All of their fish is super fresh and yummy. You eat outside on picnic tables next to the fishing boats.

The Gaffey Street Diner in San Pedro, Patrick's Roadhouse in Malibu,  Emma Jean's Holland Burger Cafe in Victorville and Baby Blues BBQ in Venice are some places that have been on the TV show.

Phillipe's in LA is a great diner, they invented the French Dip Sandwich and they've been around 100 years.

The website below has a million different places in the LA/OC area that fall under the dive category. They even tell you if the neighborhood and clientale are scary.

  10. Did you try to go to the Food Network website then click on the link for DD and D..I am sure it will give locations!..

PS i love that show too!!
