Ding Junhui bounces back in second session to take a two frame lead: 2011 World Snooker Championship
The Chinese Sensation, Junhui, has taken a two frame lead over Judd Trump in the second session of their best-of-thirty-three semi-final match of the 2011 Betfred.com World Snooker Championship, which
is being staged at the Crucible Theatre, Sheffield.
The Bristolian Ace, Trump, who ended his opening session with an impressive 3-5 lead, has succumbed to his opponent in the second session. However the world number four, Junhui, on the same note showed
great temperament, as he came from down-under to be in the lead.
It has been an old fashioned game, as most of the time the players were involved in the safety battle.
The twenty-four-year-old, Junhui, dominated the opening frame of the session with a classy break of 91 to come within one frame at 4-5. However the Englishman, Trump, restored his two frames lead at 4-6
in the following tenth without doing anything outstanding and then he also took the eleventh frame after a bout of safety play to go even ahead by three frames at 4-7.
There was a shock on the cards before the Chinese top cueist, Junhui, bounced back into the game, with all of his zeal, energy and strength, and clinched all of the following frames to end his campaign
with a two-frame lead.
Junhui was not playing a very good game, but he proved to be much stronger, mentally, than his opponent, who missed a lot of frame-winning chances due to pressure.
In the fourteenth frame Trump got an excellent chance to steal the frame on the colour balls. Though he managed in potting all the balls, he lost his nerves on the final black and was punished. There was
a similar story in the following fifteenth frame, as this time Trump lost the frame by missing one of the easiest yellow at the end.
Finally the sixteenth frame of the session also fell for the Chinese, who capitalised on some poor safety shots from his opponent.
Both players will fight it out again the third session. All is left to see is whether the rising star, Trump, is able to make a comeback against his experienced opponent.
