Question:

Dinging sound on my 2006 Lexus IS wont stop....

I hit a litte pot hole and now when I turn the dinging/beeping sound that is usually for when you are not wearing your seatbelt goes off.. even though I have my belt on... any suggestions to what is wrong?

  1. Usually there is a picture of a seat belt or door displayed on the instrument panel when this alarm goes off. If no picture displayed, then is it a sound like the alarm that is coming from under the car. There are numerous heat shields under the car that can make a "dinging" sound. Also since this is a 2006, have the dealer check it out. Unless the "little pot hole" damaged the car it should be under warranty.


  2. it would be my best guess the your seat weight sensors mite be outof calibration due to the shock of pothole damage. bring to your dealer to verify concern

  3. If you have less than 50,000 miles, the vehicle is still under warranty.  

    Go to the nearest dealership.

    Fixing this problem will be no cost to you.
