I'm trying to find a place to eat for my end-of-year11 prom/presentation event at lunchtime. It needs to be in Bristol or very near and fairly posh as we will all be in ballgowns! There's a group of about 20 of us. If anyone could help that would be fantastic! Thanks.

  1. You could try the Marriot Royal (used to be The Swallow Royal) at the bottom of Park Street or there's the Glass Boat.

    Good luck and enjoy

  2. How about the glass boat?  I hear that  its great!

  3. Ballgowns at lunchtime! Not usual but should be good fun.

If you want it posh and stylish then try Kings Weston House (see URL below). It may be a bit big for 20 bodies but call them and discuss it.

The Aztec Hotel at Patchway is a 4* establishment located near the M4/M5 Almondsbury Interchange so it's easy to find. They'll handle a "posh frocks" party with aplomb. (see URL below)

Make sure the fellows all wear "black tie" too. It's a courtesy thing, men who don't dress to match their ladies are thinking more about themselves than respecting the occasion.

  4. MOST Chinese will accommodate you

  6. how about buckingham palace?

What do you get when you cross trendy British chic with one of Bristol's most historic buildings? The answer is Hotel du Vin, part of an old sugar mill warehouse. The chef combines contemporary British dishes with a dash of Italy and France. parfait consisting of creamy layers of foie gras and chicken livers topped with crostini, braised duck in red wine, and juicy rib eye with a side of pommes frites are just a few of the menu choices. Select the perfect wine from an impressive list to accompany your meal. Reservations recommended.
