Dining out in Melbourne...?

Question

Can anyone suggest some good places to eat in Melbourne? I am heading there with 2 girlfriends in early to mid February and would like to know of anywhere that has great food. Any suggestions will be much appreciated!

Depends on what price range you're looking for. The great thing about Melbourne is the amount of choice. Southbank is probably THE place to go for fine dining, but also has some lovely and reasonably priced resturants as well. My favourite is Rockpool, which is just next to Crown. If you go inside the Casino they have some very nice places to eat.

I'm vegetarian and I love going to Soul Mama in St Kilda. The food is healthy but very filling and the staff are really nice as well.

There are quite a few to choose from by Southgate, south bank of Yarra River along Flinders Street.  Close to CBD.  Live music, street arts, fresh seafood, etc.  Very nice especially in a warm evening.  I like that area.

My fave would have to be at Docklands - you can pretty much choose any style you want & not too expensive plus a great location.

Also, Southbank has heaps to choose from.
