Dinko Jukic performs well in Men’s 200m IM heat: Day one - 2011 FINA Swimming World Cup
Both Austria’s Dinko Jukic and Ukraine’s Andrii Govorov performed well in the heats series on day one of the 2011 FINA Swimming World Cup, in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, on Friday, October 7. The session of the meet conducted the Men's 200m Individual Medley
and 50m freestyle heats.
In the 200m IM heat, Austria’s young gun and 2010 European champion gave his aggressive performance and won the heat by posting a thrashing time of 2 minutes and 03.57 seconds. In the corresponding race, Japan’s Yuma Kosaka finished second in a time of 2
minutes and 04.28 seconds, while Russia’s s***n Makovich earned third place honours with a mark of 2 minutes and 04.29 seconds. In addition, Maksym Shemberev of Ukraine earned fourth spot in 2:04.47 minutes, whereas, Chad Clos Le settled for fifth place in
2:06.15 minutes.
Moreover, Jayaprakash Agnishwar of India finished sixth in a time of 2 minutes and 06.38 seconds and Masafumi Yamaghuchi of Japan settled for seventh spot in a time of 2 minutes and 06.74 seconds. Furthermore, United Arab Emirates’ Ahmed Obaid Al Jasmi finished
eighth in a time of 2 minutes and 08.22 seconds. Stefan Sorak of United Arab Emirates and Hong Kong’s David Wai Kai Wong settled for tenth position in a time of 2 minutes and 12.30 seconds.
On the other side, the Men’s 50m freestyle heat was taken over by Ukraine’s Andrii Govorov with a decisive mark of 22.07 seconds. Kenya’s Jason Dunford and Hungary’s Krisztian Takacs settled for second and third positions with a mark of 22.58 seconds and
22.86 seconds, respectively. Velimir Stjepanovic finished fourth in a time of 23.30 seconds, while Kolin Kevin Riazanov of United Arab Emirates settled fifth in 23.44 seconds. Additionally, Tiago Ferrao of United Arab Emirates and Ahmed Obaid Al Jasmi earned
sixth and seventh positions with a time of 23.51 seconds and 23.70 seconds, respectively.
In the corresponding swim, Ramadhan Vyombo of Kenya finished eighth in a time of 23.80 seconds and Khalfan Ahmed Al Jahouri settled for ninth spot in 23.85 seconds. Furthermore, Edward Ilako of Kenya and Gene Laurence of United Arab Emirates got tenth and
eleventh positions with a mark of 23.88 seconds and 24.04 seconds, respectively.
The swims of all athletes inspired the arena, while the winners qualified for the final heats of the World Series. The 2011 FINA Swimming World Cup is providing a great chance to young guns to prepare hard for upcoming events.
