  1. So you don't like traditional.  Try this then . . .

1    Good sized cooked hoot owl, boned and chopped

          1    Stalk celery, diced

          1    Onion, chopped

          1 tb Oil

10 oz Package frozen broccoli, cooked and drained

          1 c  Sour cream

10 1/2 oz Can cream of hoot owl soup

               Salt and pepper to taste

               Warm tortillas

      1 1/2 c  Hoot owl broth

          1 c  Grated rat cheese

Mix the chopped owl, celery, onion, oil, cooked broccoli, sour cream,  hoot owl soup, salt, and pepper together.  Then you let them sit while  you and the boys play "Never beat your Mother with a Great Big Stick."  Be sure you don't play more than 6 choruses.  Roll all of this stuff  into the warm tortillas and place them in a baking dish.  Then pour the  hoot owl broth over them.  You cook all of this stuff in a 325F oven for  20 minutes  Make sure the onions are done.  Then the last 5 minutes of cooking,  place the grated rat cheese on top.   Dish out the warm tortillas and hot  sauce.   Serves 6.

  3. I am a nanny and have helped lots of kids learn to cook email me anytime you need help.

Ok start easy.... first thing you need to know is that you have to be careful around the stove.

try these things to show your mom you can cook for your self...

1.Grilled Cheese Sandwich and soup or ramen noodles

2 slices of american cheese (the kind you put on hamburgers)

    2 pieces of bread

    some butter

cook soup or ramen as the can or package says

ok so toast the bread in the toaster on med light

when it comes out butter ALL sides of the toast

then put your cheese in the middle like a sandwich and put it on a plate and melt it in the microwave 15 seconds

or you can put it in a toaster oven for 1 min on toast

2.grilled chicken breast with mashed potatoes and a can veggie of your choice

1 frozen or thawed chicken breast

1 piece of tin foil about as long as your arm

    non stick cooking pray

    2 potatoes peeled

    1 can of vegetables

first thing you do is take the chicken and the tin foil

spray the tin foil with non stick cooking spray then put the chicken on the foil and fold the foil upward around the chicken add about 1/4 of a cup water before closing the foil completely (close so the juices don't run out of the foil) bake in oven for 38 mins (set oven at 350 degrees)

then while chicken is cooking cut your potatoes up in med small bite size pieces.

Put in a med pot with hot water and boil them until they are soft. about 18 to 20 mins. ( if fork can glide into potatoes then they are ready) drain the water and put back in pot.

add 1/4 cup butter 1/4 cup milk and 2 tespoons of salt, garlic and pepper mix with a hand mixer until smooth.

choose a can veggie and heat the veggie in a bowel in microwave for 2 to 3 mins until hot put a little bit of butter and salt on it for taste.

    3. spagetti

cook spagetti noodles liket the package says on the stove in a pot

you can cook ground beef in a pan on med to high heat until all meat is brown and no pink is left while you cook the meat heat your sauce in the microwave for 3 mins.

after all meat is brown pour sauce over meat in pan

then put meat sauce on top of noodles

or you can just have noodles and sauce.

    4.hard boiled eggs and toast

    3 eggs

    1 piece of bread

put the eggs in a med pot and fill water in pot above the eggs put on stove on high heat once the water is boiling( making lots and lots of bubbles) cook eggs for 19 mins

when finished cooking put hot pot in sink and run cold water over eggs (still in pot) until the pot and eggs are cool enough to touch then peel the eggs under running water.

    toast your bread in toaster

  5. I think it's great that you want to start learning how to cook. It's good to start from young learning your way around a kitchen. Just be very careful around the knives and the stove/oven. Ask for help if you need it instead of cutting or burning yourself.

I find that chicken tenders/chunks are very easy to cook and don't take long at all. Buy the raw tenders/chunks from the supermarket. One packet should be enough. Marinate them in some lime juice and salt beforehand. Fifteen minutes should be sufficient. Then rinse off and season with your favourite seasonings (if you're not sure what those are I find that black pepper, paprika and curry are a good place to start and are found in most kitchens - just enough to cover the chicken). Also dash in some Soya Sauce and Worchestire sauce.

When you're ready to cook your chicken heat a little oil in a frying pan (preferably non-stick) and throw in some chopped onion and minced garlic. Let those cook a little and then add the chicken. I tend to add more seasonings at that point to give the chicken some more colour. Be creative with it, but don't add too much of any one thing to spoil the flavour. Make sure to turn the chicken pieces so that both sides are cooked and have seasonings on them. You can tell when the chicken is almost ready because it will start to look more white than pink and will start to get firm/solid looking. At that point I like to add sweet and sour sauce, pineapple juice and pineapple chunks (depending on your tastes). Stir-fry everything for a bit. Then turn the stove off. Total cooking time should be 10-15 minutes depending on how high you have your flame (it shouldn't be too high to start with).

Chicken can be served with crackers or biscuits for a quick and easy meal. If you know how to cook rice or pasta, you can also serve the chicken on top of it.

A quick and easy meal to start off with if you are new to cooking. Let me know how it goes (if you bother to go through with it :-)).

  6. try recipe.com or foodnetwork.com

  7. I would try the recipes on either kraft.com or pillsbury.com. They have a lot of recipes that are very yummy, but fairly easy and quick to make.

  8. ok if you can learn to brown ground meat..theres a few easy recipes...

tacos...just ground meat and taco seassoning...and u buy your lettuce and taco shells and cheese and taco sauce to put in it...it's easy like a 1hr at the longest....

    also ...

pizza...brown ya meat and buy the pillsbury dough and sum cheese and pepperonis and follow the directions on the dough and that takes also about an hour.....

  9. Baked Chicken and Salmon are two very simple entrees that are delicious and great for you.  All you need to do is put a boneless/skinless chicken breast or salmon fillet on a baking sheet and put some olive oil, salt, and pepper (you can get creative with other spices if you like) on it and bake at 350 degrees for approximately 15-20 minutes.  The salmon won't take quite as long as the chicken.  I like to have fresh greens on the side.  A few of my favorites are collard greens, asparagus, and brussell sprouts.  Steam them and add some balsamic vinegar to them on your plate.  Foodnetwork.com has tons of recipes ranked by difficulty and you can search for your favorite foods, etc.

  10. get u some chicken breast and potatoes and put them in the oven for 35 to 45 min with olive oil and a little bit of butter and some kind of seasoning it's good

  11. apologize to your mother NOW!!!!   And just why don't you like her traditional foods and cooking?? Because that isn't what your friends eat? Well, baby, you can just starve as can my granddaughter when she told me the same thing.  And STAY OUT of her kitchen while you are doing the no fat, no salt, no sugar, garbage you seem to think you should eat.

You should be in the kitchen helping your mother and should have been being there since you were about 6 yrs old learning the recipes of the lovely foods your mother cooks.

When you turn 18 and have your own kitchen then you can change to American Garbage as cooked by Rachel Rae and others.

  12. I would eat cereal, sandwiches and salads. lol

Or you can search online for simple recipes like spaghetti, pizza, etc.
