My wife and I were so annoyed when they switched from Robert Irvine to Michael Symon. We enjoyed Roberts quick wit and while he was a smart a$$, he was a funny one! Symon on the other hand is simply just a smart a$$. And not to mention the irony that the first episode of his Dinner Impossible was at Alcatraz since he looks like a friggin inmate!! We turned it half way through when he started getting "beeped" due to his language. I googled and found out why Robert was replaced and it seems somewhat trivial to me. What do you think?

  1. I jsut read it - wasn't sure WHY they booted him. I LOVED that show too and miss it. I don't really watch the new one Food Network came out with. What a shame!!!

  2. YOUR RIGHT IRVINE WAS A MUCH BETTER PERSONALITY FOR THE SHOW, I'M NOT FOND OF THE NEW GUY EITHER

MAYBE IF ENOUGH PEOPLE QUIT WATCHING IT AND E-MAIL COMPLAINTS TO THE WEB SITE THEY WILL BRING ROBERT BACK.

MAYBE HE LIED AND MAYBE HE DIDN'T BUT THAT DOESN'T MAKE HIM A BAD PERSON OR A BAD COOK, HOW MANY TV PERSONALITIES ACTUALLY TELL THE WHOLE TRUTH ANYWAY,

NO ONE IS PERFECT AND MAYBE FOOD NETWORK IS MAKING TO BIG A DEAL OUT OF ALL OF THIS

  3. I liked Irvine and am sad to see him go, but I LOVE Symon.  He was cracking me up with his responses to the nagging blond at Alcatraz.  She kept insisting on veggies and he was like, "Why would you want a vegetable that's not wrapped in bacon?" or something like that.  Hilarious!  And then the next episode he did chocolate covered bacon...sounds gross but I like his sense of humor.

  4. Oh, please.  How can you remain an Irvine fan when he was such a blimey liar!  You do know why he was fired, don't you???

I love Symon.....a much, much better personality and a REAL chef, he doesn't have to blatantly LIE like Irvine.

  5. I'm not surprised it happened.  It was a big stink when Robert Irvine was discovered to have lied on his resume/CV abotu being a chef to the Queen of England, but was not and had never set foot in Buckingham Palace!  I guess they let his contract run out, then replaced him.

I am sick of the "bad boy" chef image.  Why is cursing necessary to cook a good meal?  (It's not.)  Tattoos everywhere are not attractive to me, nor are earrings and weird peircings.  How about a clean-cut chef for once?

  6. How can you say lying is right?  What kind of example are you setting for the future TV Stars?  I understand why they fired him, if you lie on ANY job application and are found out you will be fired.  Food Network did the right thing.  You can go through life lying and expect to make it big time.  Sure there are a few that have and will, but they are the exception NOT the rule.  If you notice any application you fill out you have to sign it stating it is true.  I'm sure that's the same with TV personalities as well as McDonald's.  People should NOT be rewarded for dishonesty, that's why this world is where it is, Nasty people.  Oh and please do us all a favor and turn off the CAPS LOCK, that's just RUDE!
