  1. Ideas for side dishes:

Roasted Aparagus: Asparagus, Olive oil, Kosher salt, black pepper

Preheat oven to either 400 or 450

Snap off tough ends of asparagus.

Place asparagus on a baking sheet.

    Drizzle asparagus with olive oil.

    Sprinkle with salt and pepper.

Toss to combine and evenly spread oil over asparagus.

Roast for 10 -15 minutes until tender and slightly browned.  Shake once during roasting.

If  you don't like asparagus, you can do the same thing with string beans but the string beans will take about 20-25 minutes.  They are done once they have browned.

You can also serve a some type of potato dish.  Here are some ideas:

For drinks: to make it fancy you could serve sparkling cider or sparkling lemonade or sparkling grape juice.  You can find them all in the supermarket.  You could serve the drinks in wine glasses - so it would seem more fancy.

People talk at dinner parties.  Some people play games after dinner.  It is up to you.  Do what ever will be fun for you and your friends.

    Have a good time!

  2. what's the main dish?  that may help your answerers...

ok.  with a filet, and y'all are 14 i would say keep it simple with a nice salad, which you could make "fancy" by what you put in it (not just straight out of the bag) and baked potatoes, and with the baked potatoes, offer all the trimmings like bacon bits, cheese, butter, sour cream, chives.  the formal part more comes in with how it is "set up"---you will need china, a complete place setting, linen napkins, crystal, the whole nine yards.  to drink...you can serve whatever you want, it will look elegant in those crystal glasses!  if you want; you can make mock "champagne" by mixing apple juice with gingerale and serve with strawberries as your after dinner cocktail.  you could also google "virgin versions of drinks" if you want to be really fancy and have "cocktails" before dinner as well.

if you don't like the salad and potato idea, asparagus is usually served at finer restaurants with filet, and you still need a starch, like wild rice or orzo w/ butter sauce.

what do ppl DO?  socialize and those over 21 drink.

  3. Hello darling,

    Sounds like big fun....

Its ask your mom if you can use her china, and silverware, and her dinner room table. You will want to set the table the night before. If your going to have candles make sure there are not scented.... Fresh flowers, your arrangement should not be any taller then the shoulders of your guest. this is to insure clear eye contact...

Put flower on the table couple of hours before dinner.

    Menu:

Let do something you can do all by your self. Elegant and pretty.

    starter:

Wild field green salad, w/ flowers.

(Mixed field salad at store( in bags already washed)

call around to see who carries edible flowers) if can't  find the flowers use fresh berries, blue, rasp, straw.

    Kens raspberry dressing

chill the salad plates in fridge about an hour or so, serve salad w/ dressing on side.

French bread w/ butter pads (served on bread plates)

Lg wine glass fill w// ice and water with thinly slice lemon on top

    Fillet Mignon w/

    crab and Bearnaise sauce.

very easy... 1 can of lump crab ( drain and rinse)

1  pkg of Bearnaise sauce( make per direction)

1 pkg of rice pilaf(also make per directions)

cook you steaks ( season only w/ pepper and garlic) salt drys meat out...

Warn you plate in oven set at 250 for about 10 min. Use pot holders and remove plates  assambe you main dish

in circle (using a spoon make ring around the plate w/ the rice)

in middle place your steak and top w/ couple pieces of the crab and then top w/ sauce..

Sprinkle w/ chopped parsley and serve

I would just get a cheese cake and a can of cherry ( the kind for cherry pie. you can cut and have your dessert already plated in the fridge.

Remenber a good hostess spends the time w/ her guest and not in the kitchen.. so do everything you can before they arrive..

    Have a wonderful Dinner Party...
