Dinner before show in Las Vegas, suggestions?

My best friend and I are spending Labor Day weekend in Vegas as a "best friends send off" before she gets married. We want to do a nice dinner before we see Zumanity (at NY, NY). I really like Alize & Aureole on paper, but I'm just not sure. Also, we're staying at Venetian and would rather not have dinner there. Thanks in advance!

  1. We had dinner at Aureole.  Was fun watching the girls rapple up the ropes to get to the wine.  But we didn't care for the food.  So I wouldn't suggest that place.  Other options at Mandalay Bay are Strip Steak (awesome) and Red Square (awesome too, have some kind of vodka martini there. Yum) Any Emeril's restaurant, any Wolfgang Puck restaurant.  And if you want to dine at NYNY Gallagher's Steakhouse is very good.

  2. At MGM there is Emerils Fish house which is across the walkway from NY/NY.

Never ate at A and A but I am sure it is good. You can't go wrong with any big name chef/ famous restaurant in Vegas.

Try Olives at Bellagio, Cirque at Bellagio or any of the myriad of restaurants at MGM.

Zumanity is a good show too- not the best Cirque in Vegas but definitley worth the money.

    Have Fun

  3. If you want to eat during the show I suggest not to eat before going to the show but I recomened 2 eat before going to the show and have a nice dinner and just have a couple of drinks during the show or a snack if your still hungry.

  4. Okay, I have NO idea what the heck Vane was trying to say there but....

Any place in the MGM would be a good choice as you are in close proximity to show. They have plenty to chose from (more then most) but I really like Emerils (plus they aren't terribly expensive) SeaBlue is another good (but more expensive) choice.

Mixx a top Mandalay Bay would be really nice as well, but...you have a show to get to and with the view you two may not want to leave.

I know you said you are staying @ Venetian and didn't want to eat there...I hope you mean just for this night as the Venetian has some of the best Italian restaurants this side of Italy (IMHO)

*Quik add+ Make sure you have a reservation and give yourself PLENTY of time.

  5. Alize definitely! My boyfriend and I ate there last September and it was excellent. Great food and service and the view was spectacular! Make a reservation and request a window table. Oh, and plan to spend some money. But well worth it.
