im trying to make my grocery list but my son (2 and 1/2) is soooo picky (he get it from me though) its really hard every two weeks when i go shopping i buy the same things my son eats good mostly but he only eats the same things he eats hot dogs and cheese but he is nothing like normal kids he loves spinach, corn, peas and certain veggies like that turkey and veggies, rice n beef tips, baked chicken breast , pot roast, mac and cheese with blended up brussle sprouts most fruits and the usual corn dogs, chili dogs, grilled cheese, fries, anything with cheese and so on he loves hamburger meat but only by itself he hates hamburgers and spaghetti and other stuff with it but he hates mashed potato's, tacos, and fritoe pie, pizza, and so on so you see its not that he will only eat junk food its just that he will only eat the same ol foods so can any one give me some new ideas with the same ol foods

  1. Fruit salad, fish fingers, pitta bread and salad.

Judging by the list he doesn't seem that picky for a toddler.

    Try him with rice pudding.

  2. Maybe insted of cooking him stuff and hoping he eats it, take ingredients like vegtables and fruit and let him invent his own meal. He might like it better, knowing that he created it.

  3. rice and chicken

    chicken nuggets

    kids cuisine microwave dinners

    lunchables

    macaroni

    pbj sandwich

    spaghetti

  4. Try taking him to the grocery store and asking him what he would like for dinner. Obviously candy and cookies aren't the solution, but it appears he doesn't eat those anyways.

It sounds like he is relatively balanced already. Try mixing things with other things... i.e Make Cinncinatti Chilli, which is our basic chilli over spaghetti noodles. He he likes beef tips, try beef stroganoff. Try making pizza burgers (spaghetti sauce and hamburger on a bun with melted cheese).

    Good Luck!!!

  5. You should make combinations of his favorite foods every night  and start to sneak in new things he might like and plus if you start buying the same thing every two weeks than you could start clipping coupons and save money.

  6. Your best way to solve this is to simply slowly introduce  new food items to his plate. For example, if he looooves hot dogs, then add a vegetable (small portion) that he has never tried. Encourage him to 'explore' the food item (i.e., touch, smell, taste briefly) but don't reprimand him if he doesn't want to consume it.

As you increase the child's exposure to new foods, he will also tolerate the new foods on his plate, and eventually try them...then eat them with no problem! The magic number of tries is usually 10-12; therefore, don't give up on him! Just keep introducing the new foods.

The more food items he eats, the more options you have for meal varieties. :)

  7. my son used to be like this but it wasnt that he didn't like the food he just didn't want to eat until he was ready...I started to notice that he did on the other hand like to drink his cup  like crazy ...soo now he doesn't get to drink his cup until dinner is done...Its crazy but it works...I suppose to me all kids have a food they really like or a drink...I would tell him that he can have it when he's done with dinner...People always say don't barter with kids but it teaches them some good lessons in the end...I don't want for my kids to drink until there done so...it works for me ...Your son maybe different but then again...he may just not want to eat until he is good and ready...lol...my mom also told me to stop making other things when he gets hungry he will eat...don't kill yourself fixing different meals ...make dinner ...and when he realizes THIS IS IT... he will eat...hope I was some help...
