Question:

Dinner party fears...?

Some lovely new friends of ours may be coming to town and staying the night with us. My main fear is what they might think of our home - which is very humble. (Apart from being small and unusual, the decor was designed by my husband and, well, we have different taste). What should I do?

  1. Invite outragious people which will detract from your home and be proud of your house its yours and you are not homeless

  2. we all have different tastes in lifestyle and decor

my home is unusual, but its always cosy, clean & tidy

and the kettle is always on LOL!!

i never worry what other people think, its my home and my surroundings are important to me

when having people over what matters is that they receive a warm welcome and feel at ease

THIS is what will matter to your guests too

be proud, you have made a home, many people live in "houses" but not a home, there is a difference

enjoy seeing your friends in your "castle" and forget about worrying about something that doesnt matter

  3. It is URS and UR HUSBANDS home, not ur friends. You have the right to have ur house however u want it. If ur friends have a problem with it then i guess that theyre not true friends. The people u should most b able to act urself around should b ur friends, so either they arent ur true friends or ur just worrying too much. Anyway im sure that they wont care, and if they do then just say, "and y would i care what u think, this is my home, not urs". You may think that that sounds mean, but ur just getting even with them for saying bad stuff about ur house. Anyway i hope i helped. And remember that ur the only person that can live ur life, so dont let other people live it.

  4. Why should you be afraid of what your friends think about your house? If they are true friends of yours and you're such a darling to offer them a free night's stay, why should they mind?

It's the company of love and friendship that counts, if they judge you and stay away after that, you can ditch those friends of yours.

I'm sure your friends will appreciate you and your home.

    Enjoy your dinner party!
