<p><strong>Dionysius Hayom Rumbaka beats Dieter Domke in Men’s Singles first round of German Open GP Gold</strong></p>
<p>Indonesia’s emerging shuttler Dionysius Hayom Rumbaka defeated Germany’s Dieter Domke with a tight margin at the Men’s Singles second round of German Open GP Gold 2012 at Mulheim, Germany, on Wednesday, February 29.</p>
<p>Rumbaka, who is currently World Number 28 and the 16<sup>th</sup> seed in Men’s Singles main draw of the tournament, played to his maximum potential and remained successful in winning this fight with a tight score on the board.</p>
<p>Both shuttlers engaged the local crowd by putting up stunning show of top quality badminton.</p>
<p>However, Rumbaka was the one who took over the control in the end and won this three-set match by taking 46 minutes in the court.</p>
<p>The Indonesian opened his campaign in a thrilling way and took an early lead but his German opponent also played well and managed to level the score at the end of first half. The score was quite close until the one-minute interval.</p>
<p>After the break, both shuttlers showed their aggression and continued playing top class badminton until the ending stage when Rumbaka executed a few wrong shots and lost the set with a 19-21 score on the board.</p>
<p>In the second game, the Indonesian geared up his speed and played to his maximum potential. He did not drop his speed at any stage and remained in complete control of the pace of rallies. Until the break, he was far ahead at 11-6.</p>
<p>After the break, Rumbaka continued his positive and striking play throughout the concluding half and ended it with a 21-12 score on the board.</p>
<p>In the final set, Domke tried to play fast game but failed to dominate rallies as his rival was on a different level.</p>
<p>Rumbaka was at his best as he targeted the loopholes of his local rival and remained successful in taking a remarkable lead of 11-6.</p>
<p>After the interval, Rumbaka maintained his upper hand in the deciding game and did not let his German opponent to bridge the gap. He ended the set with a wonderful margin of 21-14.</p>
<p>Rumbaka emerged as victorious of this three-set contest with a 19-21, 21-12 and 21-14 score on the board.</p>
