Hannover striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mame-Biram-Diouf-c23302, who is still recovering from a knee injury has returned to training.
The much travelled striker joined Hannover from Mancshester United in January this year for an undisclosed fee. The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Senegal-c3001 international failed to make any impact at the English club, whom he joined from a small Norwegian side,
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Molde-FK-c39935 in 2009.
Prior to joining United, he was being chased by several European giants. He had come to the Manchester club with a lot of promise but failed to live up to the expectations.
After making five appearances, he was loaned out to Blackburn where he only scored three goals in 26 appearances. Sir Alex’s patience ran out and he decided to sell the player to cut his losses. Diouf was sold to Hannover in the
2012 January transfer window despite interest from Wigan.
Diouf was signed by the Bundesliga side for an undisclosed fee and he signed a two-year deal with the club. At Hannover, he enjoyed a good goalscoring record and was in the form of his life. He scored six goals in ten appearances
for the German club; his sensational record was cut short after the player tore his knee ligaments in his side’s 2-0 defeat to Wolfsburg.
The striker missed most of Hannover’s domestic campaign through injury. Recently a statement from Die Roten’s coach revealed that according to the surgeon, the player’s rehabilitation is going according to plan.
"Our medical department examined Mame Diouf extensively, in close consultancy with the surgeon and the player, and we know that he has worked well according to his plan of rehabilitation," Hannover's coach Mirko Slomka is quoted
as saying in an interview.
The tactician insists that although the player has shown signs of quick recovery, the medical staff will not rush his return. The seriousness of the injury makes it unclear when exactly will he be able to play.
"But he still needs time to make a full recovery. We cannot determine when he will be able to play again at the moment," he added.
The striker has a good injury record and should make a swift recovery, and most certainly should be back for the start of his club’s Bundesliga campaign.
