Diphenhydramine Help?

Hello, I'm doing a school asignment on the active ingrediant of benadryl, Diphenhydramine, I'm having trouble finding information on the history of the ingrediant (when and by whom the ingrediant was developed, and how it was intially tested), as well as the synthesis of Diphenhydramine. Including what i can about equilibrium, acid-base reactions, solubility and any equations at all.
