Diplomatic to face a fierce lineup in the Kempton Park (Supported By Betfair) at Kempton on 20th March
Kempton is to stage the Kempton Park (Supported By Betfair) over seven furlongs on Tuesday, 20th March. The race has the lineup of fourteen four-year and older thoroughbreds and is offering the purse worth £1, 617.
From among the entries today, Diplomatic, Cape Cross’ seven-year-old bay gelding out of mare Embassy, leads with the best credentials for moving on with today’s venture.
He is unbeaten in the two starts that he undertook during the new season and both of them were at Kempton.
Diplomatic won the 32Red Casino Handicap on 22nd January at Kempton over seven furlongs by being in lead by a lengths’ mark while being ridden by Luke Morris.
Settling next to the winner was Rightcar who managed the runner up’s position by a mere neck’s difference from Milton Of Campsie.
The evening’s favourite for the race, Shaunas Spirit, concluded the race fourth.
The connections could not have thought of anything better than their seven-year-old bagging the seasonal debut.
Diplomatic’s next attempt had him winning the £32 Free At 32Red.Com Handicap on 16th February at Kempton over seven furlongs.
Entered as the 3/1 favourite, Diplomatic was threatened by ¾ of a length when reeling in for the wire with Blueberry Fizz right at the heels. The winner was once again paired with Luke Morris.
Finishing the race third was Olynard.
Third start of the season can give Diplomatic a guaranteed hat trick but the fact that today he will get coupled with Adam Kirby and not Luke Morris can have some adverse implications.
However, his chances of victory are stronger than any doubts that can restrain it.
Quite a bunch on the lineup has struck a seasonal debut already and not all are lightly raced which indicates the recent practice that they have under their belt.
Lady Mango has raced at Kempton twice during the new season, Ejeed had his seasonal debut at the same course and the same applies to Do More Business and Sun Dream.
An entry who has not only raced at Kempton but has struck victory too, is Ereka. She cracked into the season by claiming her seasonal debut and can be viewed as the potential threat for halting Diplomatic’s victory today.
