DirecTV Dvr, how can I set my series to only record new episodes?

I am wondering if anyone knows how I can set my DirecTV Dvr to record only new episodes of shows and not to record all?

In the playlist is a side menu...select the option that says "Rec.Series..." the next menu will come up with episode type at the top... push the right arrow on your remote and the word"Both" lights up yellow ... push select on the remote and the option to record first runs, repeats or both will appear. highlight "First Runs". hit select and push right arrow again... this will promt you to update your preferences - hit select on "update now" and your done!!
