DirecTV HD DVR?

On the DirecTV HD DVR box, left front side corner it has a USB plug, can any one tell me what is for?

I try to plug in external hard drive to the DVR box and it did not do anything.

  1. It has not been activated and is for future use. Directv will activate it some time in the future. When ever that is.

    Front USB (For Future Use)

    Back USB (For Future Use)

    Ethernet (RJ45) (For Future Use)

    S-ATA Port (For Future Use)
