DirecTV or Dish Network, what is your preference, and why?

I am just about to dump CABLEVISION (goodbye).

I am leaning towards DIRECTV. Reasons: They carry the YES network (Yankees) and they advertise they carry more HD channels then anyone else.

Can you express your preference; DIRECTV or DISH and possibly WHY?

Please tell me about any good experiences, bad, reliability, remote control, ease of use, what ever you want. All feedback will be appreciated. Going to choose tomorrow or next day!!

I've had both.

Look, they're about the same. Yeah, DTV advertises they got the most HD channels...but, i'll be honest with ya....DirecTV's hardware has gone to absolute c**p. The SD DVR they gave me is an absolute piece of garbage and thier standard recievers act up every day.

I'd say go with Dish Network...thier in-house developed hardware is much much better than the in-house garbage put out by DirecTV. Dish actually cares and tries to fix things, DTV just tires to sell you an upgrade.

definetly directtv. once i had dishnetwork and when it rains or if the wind blows it starts to go out. i have directv now and there is no problem.
