Direct TV Phone Jack Question.?

I'm trying to order WWE No Way Out and it says Check phone line to allow ordering, I called and ask them about it and they said i must have a phone jack to order the ppv, but yet a couple months ago i ordered UFC and I didnt need a phone connection. Also my friend order last months Royal Rumble and he also have the option to order this ppv and guess what? he has no phone jack connected. Can some one please explain this because the customer service guys barely speak english.

When you order PPV through the receiver, the receiver will show you the requested program and then call DirecTV over the phone line to report that you successfully received the program.  Then the PPV charges will be added to your invoice.

Without the phone line, the receiver can't call in.  I am assuming here that the receiver still has an order to report, and can't, so it is refusing to take more orders.  As soon as it can call home, it will probably start allowing PPV again.

I have Dish Network and the receivers have a menu selection for Order History.  It shows what programs have been ordered and if any of them are waiting to be reported to the satellite company.  Perhaps yours does, too.

I never order thru the phone I always order online...that way you have a record of what you have done, and they can't double bill you. I don't have a phone jack connected for that very reason.
