My husband and I switched to Direct TV when Dish wanted $175 up front for HD hook up after being with them for 4 years. We never had HD before so when we switched over we assumed we had it. Recently we had to stay with our inlaws while work was being done in our house. They had just switched to Direct TV on our reference. It was then that we noticed that we had been paying for HD for 8 months and not been getting it. At our inlaws, there was an HD channel for every regular channel. This was not the case at our house. When I called Direct TV they asked why we had not called about the situation before and I told them we never knew until our inlaws signed up and we saw that our set-up was nothing like there's. I asked them to credit our account (They owe us $80) but they say because we have been getting service they can't credit us for anymore than 2 months. Who can I speak to about this that will agree that it is B.S. and possibly get us credited in full?

They did upload the channels.

  1. Sorry to hear about your problem with direct tv.  I was just reading a newspaper column that has problem with direct tv. only this couple was being billed for the old and the new receiver and they didnt notice it in the billed until after a couple of months passed. They were talk into an upgrade by the a representative and the old one should have been cancelled .  Anyway the problem was resolve after much patience and long hours of being hold on the phone. It also took a lot of calls and also with the help of the columnist on the newspaper called the FIXER. They got credited for the overcharge and their refund was reflected on their monthly bill until it was paid in full. Good luck and hope your problems get resolved.

  2. i would ask to speak to the supervisor - they may be able to help you more than a service rep. - plus if you threaten to switch they don't want to let you go
