This Direct TV offer from Verizon's website states:

"No upfront lease charges apply to satellite dish and up to four standard receivers ... Lease fee of $4.99/mo. applies to second and each additional receiver."

Which is it? If I want say two standard receivers, is it going to be $9.98/month extra on my bill or $0/month?

  1. A word of warning.  Be very sure you read all the fine print.  Direct TV is well known for low balling their price, and adding extra things.

For instance it may be $ Cheap,  But that only lasts for  a few months.  Than it goes up and you may be stuck for a year or more.

    .

Do they include your local channels, Some charge extra for that and other things which should be included in the base price.  In Houston I receive the local channels in HD on an old set of rabbit ears which sit on the floor out of sight.

Try AT&T-Uverse if it is available where you live. They have great service and a fair price without any catches and without that ugly satillite dish.

    Hope this helps,

    Richard
