Question:

Direct TV on Demand connection question...?

I recently got Direct TV and I have an HD DVR. I was messing around with it and found out I can connect it to the internet and get alot more programming & shows thru the internet. My cable modem is upstairs and the HD DVR is downstairs so I can't really run a cable that far. However, I have a MacBook with built in wireless internet and I use an Apple Airport Extreme base station for my router. I'm pretty sure I can share my internet connection from the ethernet port on the MacBook. It's going to take a networking genius to answer this one but here goes... How do I connect my HD DVR to the internet thru my MacBook? I already tried setting up the internet sharing in the MacBook and then connected it to the HD DVR with ethernet cable but the HD DVR couldn't connect to the internet. This might be a better way of asking the same question: How do I make the ethernet port on my MacBook act like it was a ethernet port on the Airport Extreme base station? Thanx for any info!
