  1. Watch some of the free video extracts and look at the downloadable factsheets on http://www.mikewaite.co.uk

Mike is a former police motorcycle instructor and is really good at putting across the concepts of safe and advanced riding. You could do worse than buy his DVD too.

  2. Hello,

I have the key to your door.

    http://www.begin-motorcycling.co.uk

Could you email me, and explain what a direct access course is, I have only heard of the compulsory basic training. Are you from the U.K ?

    Gemini_DJ.

  3. Passed my direct access after a 5 day intensive course in February this year. (Somewhat older than you!) I'd never ridden a bike before so in my experience I would say there's no replacement for getting on the course and doing the practical stuff.

If you drive a manual car you'll already have an understanding of the gears and road sense which will be a big help.

    Good luck.

  4. Im 33 passed my test on march but started riding last august after my cbt never rode before that .wait till you have your training or you ll fill your head will c**p and contradictive stuff the instructor will tell you what you need to know to pass your test then you can start learning when your out on your own take your time you WILL make mistakes and you become better for it remember take your time .stay safe

  5. you cant beat the practical side of biking....i cant see you learning much online....if you can ride a pushbike and drive a car your 3/4 of the way there as you know the road.....you just get some lessons, possably hire/rent a 125cc bike and ride as much as possable...well done on going for the direct accsess, you wont be dissapointed...

  6. The training you are given should be enough to pass your test.

I'm 26 and have just passed my test after never having been on a bike (other then my CBT a year ago) .... if you've driven a car then all you need is to learn how to ride the bike. Your awareness and confidence on the road will come natrally once you get used to it.

    Good luck!
